ICD-10 Monitor: Talk Ten Tuesday
An emergency summit was held today by WEDI in an effort to create a road map for medical professionals in response to the ICD-10 delay. There has been no official announcement on the new date, but many are speculating it will be pushed back by one year.
Rhonda Buckholtz, VP of ICD training and education at AAPC, explained a recent poll revealed 79% of respondents felt Oct 1, 2015 should be the new date.
“There are some unknowns out there but there are definitely some good benefits” said Rhonda Buckholtz, “…If we’re going with the 2015 date…now we can focus on how we can incorporate [ICD-10] in our practices so we can benefit in the long run”
Summit coverage continued in part 2 of the podcast.
