ICD-10 Implementation Strategies
We will be sharing a number of strategies to help your practice successfully implement ICD-10-CM. Please remember to track your progress in your ICD-10 Implementation Tracker on AAPC’s website.
Now is the time to begin (or revisit) discussions with your vendors regarding preparations for ICD-10. As highlighted in this month’s featured article, billing agencies are just one example of vendors that are in full swing with their preparations for the coming implementation. It is important to understand what your vendors may need from you in order to ensure that they, and you, are prepared for the October 1, 2015 compliance date. Do they need data from you for testing? Do they need information to update your templates? What are their timeframes, and how does your practice fit in to them? Full communication with all your business partners needs to be undertaken so everyone is on the same page and a smooth transition can occur.
