The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) released the Office of Inspector General (OIG) 2015 Work Plan on October 31, 2014. Each year, the OIG Work Plan summarizes items and objectives for HHS investigatory targets. It provides a road map for physician offices or facilities to help develop their own compliance plan for 2015.
Most physician- and hospital-related reviews are found in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) portion of the work plan. Determine what areas are a risk to your organization, include them in your own compliance and auditing plan, and manage corrective action to steer you away of OIG scrutiny.
See what old and new items will be targeted this year by accessing the OIG’s 2015 Work Plan.
