The 2010 Annual Participation Enrollment Program end date has been extended from Dec. 31 to Jan. 31, 2010. The extension is due to recent revisions the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) made to the 2010 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS), according to the American Medical Association (AMA).
“Contractors will accept and process any participation elections or withdrawals made during the extended enrollment period that are received or post-marked on or before Jan. 31,” the AMA reports in eVoice®.
The 30-day extension is for enrollment and withdrawal only. Providers continue to have until Jan. 1, 2010 to make participation status changes.
