Congratulations to Dr. Elena Kuklina, the 150,000 member of AAPC. Dr. Kuklina is a health scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and an adjunct professor of nutrition and health sciences at Emory University. Her current research interests and public health practice include health services research of obstetric complications. Dr. Kuklina is working towards obtaining the Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC™) and Certified Obstetrics Gynecology Coder (COBGC™) certifications from AAPC. She plans to continue to her work in the obstetric field and focus her efforts on the improvement of maternal health in the United States. Dr. Kuklina would like to maintain her AAPC certifications and see how she can use her credentials and knowledge to develop more advanced surveillance systems including registries. Congratulations, Dr. Kuklina, and welcome to AAPC.
