CPCs® Feted as Top 10 in HIM by Advance
Three members of AAPC were recognized by Advance for Health Information Professionals in this year’s list of “Top 10 in HIM: Deborah Grider, CPC, CPC-H, CPC-I, CPC-P, COBGC, CEMC, CCS-P; Jonnie Massey, CPC, CPC-P, CPC-I, AHFI; and Michelle Green, MPS, RHIA, FAHIMA, CMA (AAMA), CPC, PCS.
Grider, president of the AAPC’s National Advisory Board (NAB), was recognized for her work in the field as a consultant and author for the AAPC and the AMA Press. She tells Advance that no day is alike, “You have to be able to jump from one project to another, and there’s never a dull moment.”
Massey, also on the NAB, is recognized for her work in coding from the payer side. She told the magazine, “We’re all trying to do the same thing, achieve accurate coding representing services that were performed and getting the appropriate compensation for the services performed and coded.”
Green is recognized for her teaching at Alfred State College and her work as an author for Delmar Cengage Learning, for whom she’s written several books.
