We Had a Great Time in Las Vegas at HEALTHCON

On Saturday, April 27th the members of the Chapter Association Board of Directors welcomed officers to the annual meeting where we talked about all things related to local chapters. Under their direction:

  • We role-played the proper resolution to scenarios involving:
    • Exam issues
    • Disrespectful attendees
    • The mishandling of funds
    • Officers who are difficult or who don’t perform their responsibilities
  • We heard from AAPC staff who spoke on:
    • IT issues such as inadvertent cancellation notices, making changes to event reminders, and giving officers notification on email bounce backs, etc.
    • Upcoming changes to the CEU application and how processes will be streamlined
  • We were introduced to the upcoming new app for proctors
  • We participated in a demonstration on how to use our mobile devices to upload QR codes for CEUs
  • We learned about the new mentoring program available for all members

Other highlights related to chapter officers included:

  • Picking our first time ever Officer of the Year!
    • The proud distinction went to Johnna Floyd, CPC, CPCO, CPC-P, CDEO, CPMA, CRC
    • 2018 president of the Tampa Florida Chapter
  • Congratulating the 2018 Chapter of the Year
    • And the winner was the Garden City New York Chapter
      • Marianne Amster, CPC, president and Randi Goldberg, treasurer, were there to accept the award on behalf of the 2018 officers.
    • Saying goodbye to five departing members of the Board of Directors and hello to five new incoming members

    • Learning what’s happening in 15 chapters through a poster display. Thanks to these officers for showing off the great things happening in their areas:
