Virtual Meetings and Virtual Speakers

There seems to be confusion over the difference between virtual meetings and virtual speakers, and what is approved and what is not part of a chapter meeting. Hopefully the following information will help clarify:

  • Chapter meetings are always live (not recorded and viewed at a later date)
    • Traditional chapter meetings are held in person
      • All attendees are in person
    • Virtual chapter meetings are not held in person
      • All attendees are attending virtually
    • The virtual chapter meeting is open to all members of that particular chapter
      • Members of other chapters should attend their own chapter’s virtual meetings
    • Chapter meetings are not recorded to be viewed at a later time
  • Virtual speakers are live
    • Virtual speakers are approved to present at traditional chapter meetings
      • The speaker is presenting virtually but the audience is in person
    • Virtual speakers are approved to present at virtual chapter meetings
      • The speaker is presenting virtually, and the audience is attending virtually
