Message From Your Region 2 Representatives: George Blake and Rhonda Buckholtz

Geroge Blake and Rhonda Buckholtz, Region 2 – Atlantic NAB Representatives

Hi everyone!

It was great to see many of you at the New York Regional conference in August. If you haven’t attended a regional conference, it’s a great way to network with other AAPC members in your area and get to know people outside of your chapter. If you are considering attending an AAPC national conference, mark your calendars to attend HEALTHCON 2020 on April 5-8 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando. Registration opens October 1st.

Conferences are not the only way to network with colleagues. Local chapters are a great way to pick up low- or no-cost CEUs and meet some great people. Have you explored the Medical Billing and Coding forums on aapc.com? You can post your most challenging coding questions on one of the many specialty-specific areas where other experts can weigh in and provide coding advice. There are also areas for practice management, auditing, compliance, and even employment-related topics. If you want to revamp your resume, here’s a place where you can get some good pointers.

And don’t forget to check out AAPC on Facebook!

In the meantime, there’s the countdown to 2020 ICD-10 codes which go into effect on October 1st. This year there are more than 350 changes, including new codes, deleted codes, and revised code descriptions. There are lots of resources on aapc.com that will help you get ready.

Best wishes and enjoy the cooler weather!

Rhonda and George
