Congrats, Qutenza! You're a Code

Providers who use Qutenza® for the management of neuropathic pain associated with postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) in Medicare patients will soon have a new HCPCS Level II code to report for reimbursement.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has granted the pain management drug a unique J code for providers to use when billing for Part B services, beginning Jan. 1, 2011.
The official HCPCS Level II code is:
J7335 Capsaicin, 8% patch, per 10 square centimeters
Qutenza is manufactured by San Francisco Bay area-based biopharmaceutical company NeurogesX, Inc.
