End of PHE Questions? We’ve Got Answers.

E-brief

We recently hosted a webinar focused on the conclusion of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) on May 11, 2023. During the webinar, we encouraged our audience to participate by posing their questions. Since we couldn't address all the inquiries in real-time, we have provided comprehensive answers here. Here are just a few of the many questions we answer:

Will CMS continue to reimburse 99441-99443 at the same rate as office visits through 2024?

  • Will DEA waivers for prescribing controlled substances through telehealth visits be extended?

  • Can telehealth services be provided to patients who are inpatients in a hospital setting? What about those in long-term care facilities?

  • Will the coding and reimbursement for E/M codes via telehealth be equivalent to in-person E/M codes?

  • Can a provider residing in one state offer telehealth services to patients residing outside of that state?

Check out these FAQs for more information regarding post-PHE payment considerations, regulatory matters, telehealth coverage in specific healthcare settings, and the reach of telehealth services across state boundaries.
