Summary

The provider patches a defect in the ventricular septum, the wall between the ventricles of the heart, after a myocardial infarction, which results in a blood clot or other mass causing an obstruction. This obstruction decreases blood circulation to a part of the heart muscle. The provider may also perform a myocardial resection, removing damaged tissue from the septum, itself, if necessary.
