This procedure is commonly done for a child with cardiopulmonary insufficiency, a condition of the heart and lungs where an interruption in the blood circulation in the heart and pulmonary vessels leads to decreased oxygen saturation in the blood and may result in pulmonic regurgitation and heart failure. The procedure includes the use of fluoroscopic guidance.
