In this procedure, the provider uses extreme cold to destroy the lining of the uterus. He uses ultrasound to guide the cryoprobe instrument to all the quadrants of the uterine cavity. The provider may also perform a suction curettage of the uterus. This service is done to stop or reduce excessive or abnormal uterine bleeding.
