Hi, i code the Pain Clinic at the facility I work at. I recently came accross a procedure that i am not sure how to code.
I have reviewed online information and found information as well as an article here on the AAPC website regarding the Piriformis Muscle Injection and all have varying answers. I guess it is all based on the op notes which i don't have with me at this time. While i was reviewing the notes i wasn't comfortable with the cpt code that the doctor checked off from the charge sheet 64445. It seems the best cpt code would be 64999 ....the other is for 206xx? I am new at this and want to make sure that i do have and know all the options available before releasing this account from hold. Please repsond asap. thank you for your help.
