I am reading this in my CPC course, pertaining to CPT code status indicators:
Oh...I get it. I think they were saying those codes are the procedures, and E/M services done on the same day as those procedures are not payable. That's the only way it makes sense. If that's the case, I was confused by less-than-clear writing.
67346 is a biopsy. And the other two? 43255 is esophagoduodenoscopy with control of bleeding, any method. And especially 53030--meatotomy is E/M?? But it's an incision.Endoscopies or minor procedures with preoperative and postoperative relative values on the day of the procedure only are reimbursable. E/M services on the same day of the procedure are generally not payable (for example, CPT® 43255, 53020, 67346).
