Wondering how everyone is counting risk when a procedure is done in the office. If a physician is doing a joint injection of the knee due to osteoarthritis that is exacerbated. The 20610 cpt code for the joint injection does not have a global and is considered a minor procedure. If the physician documents risk as infection, hot flashes, redness, swelling--would you count that as moderate risk? Or does he have to document exceptional risks -which are out of the ordinary for the patient to count it as moderate?
