Patient presents to Urgent Care with complaint of possible UTI, advises on intake history that she is taking AZO for 3 days. Staff does a UA and preg test. Notes state that they are unable to read UA due to pt currently taking OTC AZO.

My thoughts are we should not have done the test in the first place since we knew she was on this medicaition. Also, how can I bill for labs to Medicaid when there are no results?

Just looking for some advice from those that have dealt with this before.

Thanks
