Amputation, finger or thumb, primary or secondary, any joint or phalanx, single, including neurectomies; with direct closure

The physician removes a finger or thumb at any joint or phalanx, either right after an injury or infection or after an earlier attempt has failed. This procedure includes removal of vessels and nerves and a direct closure of the wound.
