Hello everyone,

Our office has been doing PRP injections for the last few months and have figured out that we need to bill that as 0232T.
One of our docs now wants to do a "whole blood injection" instead of the PRP on a patient. The blood is taken, spun, and injected back in to the patient. For the life of me, I cannot seem to find a code for this. The doc gave me CPT code 38206 but that looks like it is primarily used for leukemia patients.

Please help!!!!!

Hi,

I am following your post as I am in a similar predictament. I hope someone is able to make a suggestion.

Good luck:)

I posted this reply to micki127 in the general section:

You'll have to use 20999, Unlisted MSK procedure and add a description as there is no CPT code for Autologous injections. Most payers do not cover it, so you will need an ABN signed or Prior Authorization. We have gotten prior auth from Work Comp carriers and they have paid.

Good Luck!
