Can a 90791 and a 90792 both be billed on the same date of service, at the same office location, under the organization's same tax ID, but for different providers? For example, can I bill 90791 for my PhD or LMSW provider and a 90792 for my MD on same date. I'm finding information in the CPT manual related to the eval code and an E & M code, but not for both eval codes. I'm thinking that this relates more to payer rules and wondering if there is a stance that Medicare has taken (or more specifically WPS--Michigan), Medicaid, other "large" payer insurance groups. Appreciate any feedback.

There is a CCI edit for billing both 90791 and 90792 as code 90792 is considered a part of 90791. I believe that this would come down to an appeal and rely on the various payer rules. I know that in California that Medicare and Medicaid would both deny the additional services based on the same office and Tax Id for billing.
