Wiki Billing foley catheter

I have an orthopedic surgeon that bills for the foley catheter when performing Hip & Knee surgery. Can someone tell me if an orthopedic surgeon can bill for the foley catheter. If not, why is this the case?

Unless the surgeon is the one putting the foley in, in his own office, then it is not his charge to charge out. The hospital where the surgery is being performed buys the catheter, and it usually hospital nursing staff that performs the insertion. So this would be a facility charge.
