One of our audiologists did a bone conduction only hearing test per the physician's request. We typically do the bone conduction test with air conduction. There is no bone conduction only test. Does anyone have any suggestions on the correct way to do this? Using a 52 modifier with hearing tests specifies one ear only which isn't correct either. I supposed I could do air and bone 92553 with a 52 modifier and in the remarks field state that only the bone conduction test portion was done, not that only one ear was tested.
Has anyone else ever encountered this? I have never seen this billing audiology for 13 years but this is all the physician requested.....first time for everything!
