How does the Radiology department charge for an exam done in the OR with the C-arm (films taken) when the exam is done by the surgeon? Do you charge radiological supervision and interpretation code (70000 codes) and the surgeon charge for the surgical portion? For example, the surgeon does a fem-pop bypass graft and an angiogram is performed to ensure the graft is patent. Is there just a fluoro charge and/or a body part charge or an angiogram extremity unilateral? How about when a cardiac surgeon performs a thoracic aneurysm endograft, the films are aquired by the Radiology department and read by the Radiologist? What if the cardiac surgeon also reads the films? Any advice is welcomed. Thank you.
