In our Cancer Center we have one RN,OCN assigned to perform Chemotherapy teachings for patients starting treatment. She covers side effects of therapy, prescribed antiemetics, and answers any questions the patients may have regarding their treatment. She spends on an average 45 minutes to 1.5 hours with each patient. Vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, and temperature) are assessed when patient checks in. Is it appropriate to bill a 99211 for this type of visit? Thanks for your help.

Is this a inpatient/ outpatient setting?
The clinic portion where I work is both. So we can up the clinic visit charge but only if a DOC was involved somehow.
