Can anyone please help? We have a doctor who did debridement(chondroplasty) of the humeral head along with Labral repair. This is an open procedure and I can't seem to find an appropriate code for it and I'm not sure if this is just included in the Labral Repair.:confused:

Really appreciate any feedback

Hi there,

I would use 23455 for the open labral repair. I know this code includes LB removal, excision of synovium / hypertrophic capsule, and arthrotomy, and my gut feeling is that it would include the debridement/chondroplasty as well. This is just my opinion, and maybe someone else out there has more information than I do.....
