Have two doctors that are under the same tax id # and same speciality. Dr. A reffers patients to Dr B.
Dr. B billed a consult. Is Dr A allowed to come back and bill a consult also at a later time if patient is seen again in hospital on a later date by Dr A

If they are they same specialty then Dr. B could not bill a consult. and neither can Dr. A. What was the reason for the patient to need to see the second Dr of the same specialty?

If they are in the same practice and of the same specialty there is no necessity for a consult by either doctor. If one is only covering for the other that is not a consult.
