Is anyone billing 0232T in an office for pain (tendonitis, meniscus tears, etc.) and if so are you getting paid by insurances? Thanks

0232t

Are you coding for simple pain injection for large joint? I work for an orthopedic group and most of the injections into knee we use large joint code 20610, using a steriod as injectable(J code), and cpt 20550 for tendons. But this will depend on what is injected. When doctor uses flouro for large joint injections we use 77002. Hope this helps.

PRP injections 0232T

These are platelet rich plasma injections in joints or tendons. CPT says the code for this is 0232T. I am being told by a sales person that insurance pays for this but I am reading that most do not because it is considered experimental. Thanks for your help.
