I am very new to Behavioral Health and have a questions regarding 90801. Is it possible for two providers in the same group to bill this code for the same patient within 6 months?
Does it have to be for two separate episodes? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Two providers can code 90801 more than once as long as they are they are dealing with two separate diagnosis or new problems

According to a recent training I attended you can bill one 90801 per provider (linked to tax ID number) per condition (icd-9), per setting, per duration (for Medicare duration is 12 months).
