Does anyone use excimer laser (ie: XTRAC or PHAROS) for mycosis fungoides? If so, what CPT code do you use?
The usual code for excimer laser (96920/21/22) is described as "laser treatment of inflammatory skin disease," so this would not fit. (And when we've tried it, our claim has been denied.) I've thought of using the malignant destruction codes (172xx), but these seem to be for destruction of specific lesions, not patches like mycosis fungoides.
Any thoughts?
