Hello, I have a question about the synovial cyst resection. I have been reading where if the cyst is incidental which they are saying it does
not provide significant or large enough to be involved in the decompression that is should be billed out as the regular 63047 instead of the 63267.
In this case the Dr. made a tear in the dura after removing the cyst and had to repair.
I'm on the fence about coding for this one.

Please see the attached 2021 AANS guidance. I will code 63267 if dictation states cyst was adherent to the Dura and explains how it was resected from the Dura. I would have to see the OP note to tell you which to use. Hope this helps.
