The doctor did hysteroscopy and could not see any perforation of the uterus. Then decides to do endometrial aspiration, but on endometrial aspiration all he found was clear fluid which probably was the fluid which he had put in the uterine cavity. (these are doctors words)
The uterine cavity or the lining of the uterus did not appear to be hypertrophic at all, so we decided not do to D & C because of the possibility of uterine perforation. So the procedure was completed...

How would you code this? 58558, or 58555, or just 57800?

Can we bill for aspiration even if the doctor only finds the clear fluid which was put in the uterine by him in the beginning? There are no notes in the report that anything was sent to the lab.
If we can't bill for aspiration I think I would code this as diagnostic hysteroscopy 58555.

I need more opinions.

Thanks
