Billed for a dislocation of a hip replacement. Patient had THA done on 12/19/11. Then on 12/24/11 patient dislocated hip. The surgeon preformed closed reduction of the hip dislocation, but while manipulation there was a cracking sound. The surgeon found out the bone was fracturing so the procedure was dicont.

27248 mod 79, 59
Medicare in PA paid for the 12/19 and 12/24 surg, but are not paying for the 12/24/11 surg. Does Medicare not pay for discont. proc???? please help
