Wiki DME Denial

When I first came to the practice I'm currently working at, the clinical staff wasn't diligent with DME orders or DME delivery tickets. As a consequence, I have a shoulder brace that has been denied due to a lack of proof of delivery. Is it wrong to have the patient sign a DME proof of delivery after the fact?
