In certain cases, my physician does only the mapping in preparation for the SRS. He is not there for the delivery of the gamma ray/knife. According to the AANS, this is considered to be an E&M service. In these instances, there is no 'face to face' with the patient. I have read thru every single E&M code & so far nothing really quite fits. The closest I can find are codes 99241-99254 Consultations: Office & Outpatient. Or at the very least 99499 Unlisted E&M service. Or could I be overthinking it & it's just the normal E&M codes?

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Tammy
