Hello Everyone -

When is it appropriate to bill for the services of a palliative care nurse (APN)?

Oncologist sees patient and refers to APN for palliative consult

Oncologist sees established patient and APN sees established patient as well

Patient has chemo and sees APN the established patient

Patient has chemo and is referred to the APN for a palliative consult

This is a office environment and the APN is a billing provider.

Thanks for your thoughts on this subject!
