How many time can a patient have ekg in a year? Is there some document that I can look this information up in Medicare?

Please help.

There is nothing set for how many a patient may have. The physician needs to document medical necessity. Some of our patients have three in one visit because the first is slightly abnormal and the second is "normal" then the third can be either normal or not.

Our MDs put a note in the chart stating why the patient had three EKGs.
