I have never seen any thing like this one.
The patient was brought to the OR and placed under MAC anesthesia and the right leg which had been marked in holding was prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion. The lesion was located on the lateral tibia about 20 cm proximal to the ankle and the anteriorly. Incicions made directly with the previous incision and dissection was carried down to subcutaneous plain where a 1 cm schwannoma was identified in a surrounding bed of scar tissue. scar tissure lysed and the schwannoma was defined both proximally and distally. There was enough play in the nerve to bring it together primarily after resection and this was done do with 6-0 prolene sutures without much difficulty. the nerve end apposed nicely and thespeciamen was sent to pathology. the wounds was irrigated and closed with 3-0 PDSand 4-0 monocryl and dressings applied.
