Physician performed arthrodesis on the 2nd and 3rd tarsometatarsal joint. the
description for 28730 is Arthrodesis, midtarsal or tarsometatarsal, multiple or
transverse.

He wishes to bill 28730 x 2. I think not, am I incorrect?

I agree with you, the lay description starts....the physician performs surgery on the foot in which more than one of the midtarsal or tarsometatarsal joints are fused. The physician makes one or more incisions over the dorsal aspect of the foot in the skin overlying the affected joints
