I have a physician who did an aspiration of the dorsal area of the right foot. He aspirated 5ml of serous looking fluid. Patient had recently undergone excesion of bone spur of right ankle. The physician wants to code it as 20600 however i am getting feedback that it should be coded as 10021. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did the physician aspirate the skin or the joint of the foot? If it was just the skin it would be 10021, if it was the joint it would be 20600.
