Job Description-
Responsible for conducting audits of Providers to ensure accuracy of coding and documentation. Identifies and evaluates compliance risk areas. Performs focused and/or investigational audits. Develops recommendations to reduce compliance risks and assists with resolution of any compliance issues. Assists with Policy and Procedures development related to coding. Monitors denial trends; makes applicable adjustments to policies, resources, and training programs. Prepares coding education materials; provides education to Providers based on chart reviewed and other focused/investigational audits. Maintains coding certification and knowledge of current coding trends. Keeps up-to-date of all billing and coding regulatory rules and regulations. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of Phoebe. Education Requirements
• 2 year / Associate Degree in In a related field (Required) ;In lieu of an Associate’s Degree; a Minimum of 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable.

Experience Requirements
• 2 - 3 years CPT-4 and ICD-9, ICD-10 coding in medical practices(Required)
• 2 - 3 years Ability to interpret coding, regulatory, and compliance guidelines(Required)

Certifications and Licensures
• Required Certifications/Licensures : Coding Certification (CPC or CCS).
• Preferred Certifications/Licensures : CPMA.
