Our providers are having some confusion with billing HH Certs and ReCerts.

G0180 is the initial and provides the next 60 days of care.

Would G0179 be billed at the end of the first 60 days to recertify?
OR
Would G0179 be billed if the provider needs to complete a review/re-cert within the 60 days?

Should the billing date be:
the date of the start of the plan of care (POC), i.e., 1st day of the POC?
or
when the provider signs off on the record?

Cert's

I am in KY. We bill the home health certs such as: G0180 within the date range specified and a G0179 if there is a Re-Cert within that date range. I haven't had any denial issues. Hope this helps.
