HPI: 85 year old who presents with hip pain s/p witnessed ground level fall. Brought to the emergency department where she/he was found to have pubic rami fractures.
Imaging Studies: CT pelvis: Nondisplaced sacral and superior and inferior pubic rami fractures (documented in the encounter note).
Assessment: A 85 year old who presents with stable left pubic rami and sacral fractures.
When is it appropriate to code from category S32.8- Fracture of other parts of pelvis, subentry; S32.82- multiple fractures of pelvis without disruption of pelvic ring.

A or B scenario?
  1. S32.82XA, S32.19XA
  2. S32.512A, S32.592A, S32.19XA

How is "other parts of pelvis" defined? In the above case scenario, there is no mention of disruption of the pelvic ring.

Additionally, what ICD-10 codes tell the story of a superior rim fracture, and inferior rim fracture, sacrum fracture, and the physician also documented an unstable pelvic ring/circle.

The question is that the category is "other" parts of pelvis, but the code S32.82 states Multiple fractures of pelvis - does this mean any fractures (more than one) that have broken in the pelvis; Or to the principles of multiple coding of injuries should be followed in coding fractures. Fractures of specified sites are coded individually by site and the level of detail furnished by medical record content. Meaning if a code exists in the tabular you use that and sequence them to severity? I hope this question makes sense.
