I apologize for such a dumb question but here goes:
If a pt has any kind of study (radiology) and regardless of what the results are there is a cancer noted on the indication line, what is acceptable codes for this? Let's just say that the cancer is not noted anywhere else in the body of the report. V Code for history of or current code? I just need to clarify b/c sometimes I see a study that doesn't say in body about cancer but might say "noted abscense of breast" or even if it doesnt say that I want to code the current code and giving it history would not be true to record? I rambling but you get what I am saying, which way is correct?
