How would you bill if a patient is seen as an inpatient in the hospital and is then admitted to swingbed? An example would be the physician discharging from inpatient on 7-14-11 and admiting to swingbed on 7-15-11. I would think that an initial swingbed visit would be billed for the first time when the physician sees the patient in swingbed? Is this how everyone else understands this?
Would you bill a hospital inpatient discharge if a patient was going from inpatient status to swingbed status?
