Hello.
I am hoping someone can help me as I am not able to find any answers online for my question.
Is it a screening colonoscopy if the patient is found to have internal hemorrhoids during a screening colonoscopy is this still a screening billed with the G0121 or does this change to a diagnostic colonoscopy billed with 45378?
Thank you in advance for the comments.

It is still screening as long as the patient was a symptomatic at the time with no expectation of any abnormality. The internal hemorrhoids are an incidental finding and are listed as a secondary dx code.
