Job Description:
The Billing/Coding Manager is a lead position that drives the success of our team. The key components
of this position are the ability to manage payment processing, lead process improvement projects and
develop analytical operations reports.
 Manage day-to-day operations of billing and coding teams to maximize collection rates.
 Knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, coding, anatomy, physiology, adjudication of claims, and
operational experience in urgent care
 Train, mentor and develop team members on both the technical and non-technical aspects of
their positions.
 Provide data for ad hoc requests as needed. Must able to think analytically and develop an
expert understanding of business operational systems to query, summarize, and present
information quickly and accurately.
 Ensure the integrity of the billing system by establishing the appropriate system of metrics and
internal controls.
 Research new payment methods – determine feasibility and prepare recommendations and
business case in support of recommendations.
 Lead efforts to improve and streamline current processes to drive efficiency, quality, and
accuracy of operations.
 Maintain vendor relationships to ensure compliance with billing industry standards and industry
 Must be able to multi-task and prioritize needs in order to meet short and long term deadlines.
Job Requirements:
 Minimum of 5 years’ experience in billing/AR/ Coding operations with a focus on business
analytics and project management.
 College degree or equivalent experience preferably in Business/Health Care administration.
 Ability to communicate with internal and external personnel in a positive manner utilizing strong
communication skills both written and verbal
 Demonstrated analytical and decision making skills.
 Experience with Urgent Care and Emergency Department Professional services is valued.
Desired Skills:
 Team oriented, a self-starter, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities.
 Strong attention to detail to appropriately manage the complexity of the processes involved.
 Occasional travel as needed
 Strong PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Access
 Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments and meet tight deadlines
 Excellent organization, time management, financial analysis, communication, troubleshooting
and problem solving skills desired.
 Competitive compensation $58,000-$68,000 based on experience, with opportunities for
