Wiki LCPC wants to bill under LCSW to Medicare

I have an LCPC who would like to bill under an LCSW in IL to Medicare for psychotherapy services. I don't think this is allowed, but I cannot locate the information online. Can anyone help?

From what I am seeing I do not think its allowed either. If the LCSW is not rendering the service or following the medicare incident to rules (which I imagine they wouldn't be) then there is no way for them to bill Medicare.

There was a bill in 2015 that would have expanded applicable rendering providers to include Counselors and Family Therapists, but it died in committee. I wonder if AAPC has a lobbying arm since expanding mental health coverage to allow more practitioners is common sense legislation.
