How would we bill for a LCSW who sees a patient in observation. Here is the scenario,
The patient presents to the ER and the LCSW does the crisis intervention we bill a 90801. The patient is going to be admitted however we have no beds so the patient is placed in observation (could be for 2 or 3 days). The LCSW sees the patient in observation until we have an available bed or the decision is made to discharge the patient to home.
What codes can we bill for the subsequent visits?
