We're a radiology practice, and we use mod Q6 on our medicare pts, other payers don't recognize the Q6 and will delay or deny the claim, is anybody out there using locum tenens and how do you handle the billing?

i have called the carriers personally, told them we were going to be having a locum tenens and how did they want that billed. Some commercials said go ahead and place Q6 others said just go ahead and send under "absent" physicians name and number and document in a hard copy file the DOS this locum worked for you, and keep it if ever an audit.
